New Staff Profiles – Becca Gray

St. Nicholas Catholic School is excited to welcome our new music teacher, Becca Gray.

Before joining our school staff, Becca was a vocal performance major at the University of Kansas. She grew up in a music-loving household and her father instilled in her a passion for music. “I sing by myself, as well as with my sisters, often!” said Becca, who is thrilled about her new job. “This job truly is a delight for me! I love the students here at this school. Their excitement, innocence, and enthusiasm fills my heart with joy. I love getting the chance to share my deep passion and love for music with them.”

This year, Miss Gray is excited to instill in students a love of performing. Part of each class is dedicated to giving kids a chance to show her their talent. She shares, “In my short time teaching here, I have already seen wonderful performances. I’m so proud of them. Also, I enjoy performing for them as well. God has given us gifts and He wants us to share them with others!” In her classes, Miss Gray also is featuring a composer of the month, broadening students’ knowledge and appreciation of music history and a variety of musical genres.

In her free time, Becca enjoys spending time with her family, creating art, and making gifts for others. She also loves photography. She says, “One of my very favorite things to do, as the kids here know, is sing! I love to sing all kinds of music whether it be musical theatre, opera, jazz, Irish music, and so much more. I have a passion for musical theatre and have been in several productions and I want to continue to do that!” She also loves to travel, having lived in Italy as a child and visited Ireland as a teenager.

Says Miss Gray, “teaching at this school is an amazing blessing.” We are blessed to have her.
