Eighth Grade

Welcome to the 8th grade! This is an exciting year where students take leadership roles at our school forming our Student Body officers ,perform Altar service and participate on the Yearbook committee .  Students play an important role at St. Nicholas through their service to our local community  of Gig Harbor and school. Our culminating project for our 8th grade students is their Science Fair Projects which they present during Student Showcase Night.

Mrs. Beverly Doering is very happy to be a part of the faith-filled community of St. Nicholas Catholic School and loves teaching. She strives to instill enthusiasm for learning, create a welcoming and collaborative classroom environment, and nurture each student’s spiritual and personal growth.

Teaching is a vocation that Mrs. Doering was called to many years ago while volunteering in her daughter’s Catholic School. Holding a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Business Administration, she returned to school and earned her teaching credentials from St. Martin’s College. Mrs. Doering’s first fourteen years as an educator were spent at Visitation Catholic School in Tacoma where she taught Junior High math and science for eleven of those years. She also spent several summers teaching Algebra at Bellarmine.

Mrs. Doering has lived in Gig Harbor since 2010, is married to a great guy, Rusty, and has a wonderful grown daughter, Leah. She enjoys spending time at her cabin in Packwood, skiing, riding her motorcycle, jet skiing in the Sound, and working on home improvement projects.
