In the parking lot, please drive between 5 and 10 miles per hour. Do not leave your vehicle if you’re parked in a drop off or pick up zone. Please keep the fire lane clear at all times. Any vehicle parked in violation of these rules may be towed at the owner’s expense.
Use the right lane parallel to our school buildings to drop off your student(s). Pull up to the crosswalk by the playground. This will leave enough space for other cars to pull up behind you. Please stay in your car as your child(ren) exit the vehicle on the right (curbside) only.
For everyone’s safety, do not drop off your student(s) from the left-hand lane.
Please do not put your car in reverse at any time. As the car(s) in front of you leave, pull forward to exit the parking lot.
If you park in the school lot for drop-off, please accompany your child(ren) to class using the marked crosswalks. Do not allow your child(ren) to cross without you.
Afternoon Pick-up Procedure
If you would like to pick up your child(ren) in the school courtyard, park in the church parking lot and walk up to the school. If your car is parked in the school lot’s parking spaces, you will have to wait to exit until the cars lined up for curbside pick-up have left.
In the afternoon, parents should park in both lanes that run parallel to the school buildings. Please leave only 2-3 feet between you and the car in front of you. This allows for approximately 24 cars (a “block” of cars) to line up for curbside pick-up. The block of cars extends from the lower end of the 1st & 2nd grade building to the top of the hill where the parking lot ends.
Once you’re parked in the pick-up line, please shut off your vehicle’s engine and stay in your car. Parents must be in their cars, waiting for students, when the dismissal bell rings. If you need to speak with other parents/drivers, please plan to park in the church lot and walk up to the school campus for pick-up.
When the bell rings, teachers will escort the students to the pick-up line. Teachers of younger grades (Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade) will walk students to the car. Older students will be dismissed to walk to awaiting cars. The remaining students will line up on the sidewalk in grade order to wait for the next block of cars to move into place for pick-up. Older students can wait with their younger siblings or carpool mates at the younger student’s group. The playground equipment is off-limits during pick-up.
When students have been loaded into the first block of cars, a staff member or parent volunteer will release one row in the block at a time. If, for some reason, you don’t have all of your students in the car when your row is released, circle around the parking lot and join the next pick-up block.
Once both rows of cars have left, the next two rows of cars can pull up to the waiting area to repeat the pick-up process.
