In the parking lot, please drive between 5 and 10 miles per hour. Please turn off your cellphone. Do not leave your vehicle if you’re parked in a drop off or pick up zone. Please keep the fire lane clear at all times. Any vehicle parked in violation of these rules may be towed at the owner’s expense.
Use the right lane parallel to our school buildings to drop off your student(s). Pull up to the crosswalk by the playground. This will leave enough space for other cars to pull up behind you. Please stay in your car as your child(ren) exit the vehicle on the right (curbside) only.
For everyone’s safety, do not drop off your student(s) from the left-hand lane.
Please do not put your car in reverse at any time. As the car(s) in front of you leave, pull forward to exit the parking lot.
If you park in the school lot for drop-off, please accompany your child(ren) to class using the marked crosswalks. Do not allow your child(ren) to cross without you.
Afternoon Pick-up Procedure
In the afternoon, parents should park in both lanes that run parallel to the school buildings. Please leave only 2-3 feet between you and the car in front of you. This allows for approximately 24 cars (a “block” of cars) to line up for curbside pick-up. The block of cars extends from the lower end of the 1st & 2nd grade building to the top of the hill where the parking lot ends.
Turn off your cell phone as you enter and exit the parish and/or school parking lot. Once you’re parked in the pick-up line, please shut off your vehicle’s engine and stay in your car. Place your name placard in the front passenger window for identification. Once your child(ren) are loaded in
your vehicle, remove your name placard so teachers an volunteers know that you have everyone and are ready to leave.
Parents must be in their cars, waiting for students, when the dismissal bell rings. If you need to speak with other parents/drivers, please plan to park in the church lot and walk up to the school campus for pick-up.
When the bell rings, ALL students will be brought out and waiting in grade groups. Pre-K students, then Kindergarten, then first, etc. through eighth will stand in a row from the far end of the sidewalk near Edwards going toward the office end of the sidewalk. No children are to be on the playground equipment while waiting for their rides. The playground equipment is off-limits after school for both students and their siblings.
Teachers will assist the children in getting safely to the appropriate cars.
When students have been loaded into the first block of cars, a staff member or parent volunteer will release one row in the block at a time. If, for some reason, you don’t have all of your students in the car when your row is released, circle around the parking lot and join the next pick-up block.
Once both rows of cars have left, the next two rows of cars can pull up to the waiting area to repeat the pick-up process.
If you would like to pick up your child(ren) in the school courtyard, park in the church parking lot and walk up to the school. If your car is parked in the school lot’s parking spaces, you will have to wait to exit until the cars lined up for curbside pick-up have left. Any car in reverse is a potential danger to the children.
PLEASE NOTE The parking lot has a Fire Lane that must remain free of vehicles at all times. Any vehicle
not adhering to the proper parking procedures may be towed at the owner’s expense.
