She has 21 years of experience teaching music at private, public, and Catholic schools across the Puget Sound. Fifteen of those years were spent at Holy Family School in Auburn, teaching PK-8th music, choir, band, and middle school religion. She holds a BA in music education from CQU and has completed graduate work in Kodaly and Orff methods. She enjoys learning new instruments and has a growing collection of band and percussion instruments at home. Mrs. Horn is active in the St. Edward Catholic Church music ministry in Shelton but she also spends time with her two daughters, son-in-law, and grandson in Seattle. structured literacy dyslexia interventionist trained through the AIM Institute for Learning and Research. Prior to working at St. Nicholas, she was a homeschool mom for over 12 years and has extensive experience working with children of all ages on various subjects and in diverse learning environments. She is very excited to have the opportunity to work with the children and teachers at St. Nicholas. Mrs. Schanne and her husband Tim have three children - Anika, Sylvia, and Ian. Her family have been parishioners at St. Nicholas since 2019. She loves being inspired by great ideas and the beauty of nature, reading, and spending time in the garden.
