THE DEL GARBER EDUCATION FUND

Del and Maggie Garber have been long-time members of St. Nicholas Parish and avid fans of Catholic education. Del converted to Catholicism and was bapitzed the night before he married Maggie. They have two daughters who have children of their own. Originally from the midwest, Del, Maggie, and family visited relatives in this area and on the train ride back had a clear sense that they should move to Gig Harbor. What a blessing that they did! Del was involved in founding the St. Nicholas Parish Knights of Columbus and gave the school its first statue of Mary when it began in 1995. Together, Maggie and Del owned and ran the Gig Harbor Ace Hardware. Maggie is still an owner. When Del passed away in 2012, Maggie created this tuition assistance fund for St. Nicholas Catholic School students. She felt that this memorial was a tangible way to remember Del. Thank you, Maggie and Del.

The Del Garber Catholic Education Fund is designed to assist you in your financial commitment to Catholic education at St. Nicholas Catholic School. The Del Garber Fund had been established through the stewardship of the parish community and supportive individuals.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, families must first apply for tuition assistance through the Fulcrum Foundation. Families may be eligible to receive both Fulcrum grants and scholarships through the Del Garber Catholic Education Fund.

We educate our children with these fundamental Christian values. They are embedded in the Del Garber Catholic Education Fund and our school ministry as a journey of faith and wisdom.
